How does an author send a manuscript?

Request a manuscript by email. The author verifies their email and uploads a file or shares a Novilot book. Uploads count toward the author’s project limit; reading and replying are free.

Does the author need to become a Novilot writer?

Invited authors can use a dedicated review page without Writer onboarding. Access is limited to that review, not the editor’s other manuscripts.

Can we work on the same draft at once?

Review is asynchronous: publish approved feedback, collect replies and edit decisions, then accept the next draft. Decisions do not rewrite the manuscript.

Who controls AI use and pays for checks?

The author controls AI permission for a shared manuscript. The editor sees a credit quote before running an AI check and pays from their own credits.

Turn a finding into a question worth asking

Inspect the source evidence, remove false positives, and write a neutral query that explains the reader-facing consequence. Approving a query for sharing is a separate decision from confirming that a potential problem exists. Do not send a raw AI queue as your editorial judgment.

Choose a client handoff that fits the engagement

Export the approved report as DOCX or CSV, print the HTML report to PDF, or share a review link for author responses. Your editor name can appear on the report; this is not a fully white-label agency platform.

For manuscript comments, supply the original DOCX. Novilot can add comments and explicitly approved simple tracked replacements where anchoring is safe. Review warnings and open the result in Word before delivery. Ambiguous anchors and complex edits may be skipped.

Know what a review link grants

Email-verified author access is limited to one review.

Optional guest links can be used by anyone holding the link until expiry or revocation. Share them privately.

Only approved queries belong in client-facing material.
Private editor notes stay in the editor workspace.
Client responses do not automatically resolve findings.
A submitted revision requires editor preview and acceptance.
