Relationship timelines

First meetings, broken promises, and “how long has it been” moments are easy to mis-state across a long draft. Continuity Guardian and timeline checks look for ages, dates, seasons, and sequence conflicts in the text you already wrote.

Dual POV and established traits

Alternating viewpoints multiply opportunities for drift: a detail one narrator knows, a physical trait that changes, a secret that slips. The Story Bible suggests character entries for you to approve; the audit quotes both sides when later chapters disagree with earlier ones.

General tools, romance workload

Romance continuity checklist

1. List first-meeting, breakup, and reunion beats in reading order so timeline language matches the page.
2. For dual POV, note what each narrator has already witnessed before later chapters spill secrets early.
3. Record appearance and relationship facts only after they appear in prose, then audit for drift.
4. Before betas or publish, run a continuity pass aimed at relationship and trait contradictions.
