Novilot reads your finished manuscript and catches the contradictions your readers would: a character whose eyes change color, a timeline that does not add up, a world rule your story quietly breaks. It keeps your novel consistent from chapter one to the end, checks character consistency across chapters, and helps you build your story bible. AI suggests. You decide every word.
Your writing is yours. We never train AI on it, and you can delete any project anytime.
The longer your manuscript gets, the harder it is to hold every name, timeline, and rule in your head. Most AI either writes for you and loses your voice, or forgets everything after each conversation. Novilot remembers your whole book and keeps you the author.
Run a scan and Novilot flags the lines in your draft that contradict your earlier chapters. Hover any flag to see the line it conflicts with and a suggested fix. You never leave the chapter you are writing.
Elara’s eye color changed
“her eyes flashed green”
Conflicts with “her cool blue eyes” in Chapter 1
Fix: Change to blue to match Chapter 1, or update the story bible.
Autocomplete suggests the next line in your voice. Press Tab to take it, keep typing to ignore it. Proofread flags filter words, telling instead of showing, weak dialogue tags and more, only the checks you switch on. You decide what changes. There is no ghostwriting and no auto-generated chapters. The AI only acts when you invoke it, and your voice stays yours.
Suggestions continue your sentence in your voice; Tab accepts, Esc dismisses.
Gray italic text = suggested completion (illustration).
Wavy underlines for patterns you enable: filters, dialogue tags, passive voice, and more.
Tap a mark to open the same proofread popover over the highlight.Popover follows light mode here while matching the same issue explanation, suggestion, and action row. Colors match the proofread legend in settings (violet, amber, …).
Novilot suggests the characters, locations, and world details it finds in your manuscript. You approve what goes in and edit what needs fixing, so the bible stays yours. The Guardian then checks your draft against it.

Export isn't the only safety net. Novilot can push manuscript, Story Bible, and outline packages to Dropbox or a private GitHub repository, with commit history when you use GitHub, so a long novel is never trapped in one place.
Real captures of the actual app: your project home and the writing surface. Click any screenshot to enlarge it. The tour follows the theme control in the top bar (light, dark, and sepia) and switches to mobile captures at phone width.
Open any novel, track progress, and pick up where you left off from one calm home screen.
Land in your manuscript with the tools you need and a live word-count goal. No tab sprawl, no copy-paste between apps.

Your writing is stored in your Novilot account so you can open it again. When you use an AI feature, the relevant part is sent to Anthropic's API to run that feature (for example a continuity scan or a suggestion). It is not sold, and it is not sent anywhere else for training. See our privacy policy for the full list of processors.
No. Your writing is never used to train any model, ours or anyone else's. Anthropic's commercial API terms also prohibit training on API customer content.
Yes. You can delete any project from the app at any time, and that permanently removes the project and its derived AI data. To delete your entire account, contact us and we remove your writing, AI working data, usage history, and profile from our database.
No. Continuity Guardian reads and audits your manuscript. It finds contradictions and gives feedback, but it does not write or rewrite your prose for you. Optional AI writing help (inline autocomplete and chat) is available and under your control; you can turn autocomplete off. You decide every word that stays in the book.
There is no fixed manuscript word limit. A Continuity Guardian scan costs credits based on how many words it reads, so what you can scan depends on your credit balance, not a plan tier. Every result states exactly how many words were scanned. Longer books can be imported; the scan reports what it covered.
The free plan includes a monthly credit allowance that refills on a rolling 30-day cycle. A Continuity Guardian scan costs credits based on how many words it reads. Re-opening an unchanged result is free, because unchanged scans are cached. Paid plans are launching soon; leave your email in the pricing section and we will tell you when they are ready.
No. Every feature is available to everyone — the Story Engine, voice matching, image generation, all of it. What a plan changes is how many credits you get, and each action tells you what it costs before you run it. Being charged credits for something you are also locked out of would be two prices for one thing.
Yes. Describe the check you want in a sentence and Novilot drafts a real tool from it — you can read and edit the instruction before saving, and its credit cost is shown before it runs. If what you asked for is arithmetic, such as a count or a ratio, it is built as a measurement instead: instant, free, and the same answer every time.
It reads the manuscript contiguously and reports exactly how many words it scanned on every result. Findings quote the passages behind them so you can verify each one yourself. It is a tool to catch things humans miss, not a replacement for your judgment.
Yes. With a free signed-in account you can connect Dropbox or install the Novilot GitHub App, then push manuscript, story bible, and outline packages from Project Settings. Backups are push-only (not two-way sync). You can run them manually or on a daily or weekly schedule. Guest sessions cannot connect backup destinations; sign up free and your work comes with you.
