Yes. Sign in to a Free account and buy 40 extra AI credits for a one-time payment of $9, before applicable taxes. You do not need a Writer subscription. Your account stays on Free with its existing project allowance and the same core AI tools. Your remaining welcome credits are used first, then your purchased credits.

Yes. Buy another pack whenever you need more credits, on Free or Writer. Each successful purchase adds 40 credits to your purchased balance. Purchased credits do not expire. Packs never renew automatically and do not start a subscription.

You keep your unused purchased credits. Cancel through Manage billing; Writer access continues until the end of your paid period. When you return to Free, any remaining welcome credits become available again and are used before your purchased credits. Buying a pack does not renew Writer or change your project limit.

New Free accounts can create or import one personal project, alongside the provided example projects. Examples do not count toward that allowance, even if you rename or edit them. Accounts already registered when the project limits launched on September 23, 2026 keep unlimited projects on Free. Writer allows unlimited personal projects.

No. All your existing projects stay in your account and remain open and editable on Free. For accounts with the one-personal-project allowance, the limit only applies when creating or importing another project. Upgrade to Writer to add more, or create a new personal project if you have none. AI tools still use credits; a Revision Pack adds credits without changing your project allowance.

The founding offer is for accounts created on or before September 18, 2026 (UTC), on their first Writer subscription. Eligible writers automatically receive $15/month for their first 3 paid months, then $19/month. It includes the same Writer package, and the renewal price will be shown before payment.

Credits pay for AI work, such as a continuity scan, a Story Bible update, or an analysis. The cost depends on the tool, the scan mode, and how much text is read. Editing your manuscript and opening saved results do not use AI credits. Check the cost shown in the app before running a tool.

Your 50 free welcome credits are provided once, do not expire, and do not refill. Writer credits refresh after each successful monthly payment and do not roll over. Revision Pack credits are a separate balance with no expiry. Your current plan allowance is used first, then purchased credits. While subscribed, unused welcome credits stay saved for Free; they are not consumed by Writer.

At the September 23, 2026 launch, existing registered Free accounts received a one-time reset to a full balance of 50 welcome AI credits. The reset set each balance to 50; it did not add 50 to the old balance. Accounts with complimentary Writer access also returned to Free and received this reset. These credits do not expire and will not refill each month. New Free accounts receive the same one-time welcome allowance. Accounts with a paid subscription were excluded from the reset.

You can keep editing your manuscript and reading saved results. Free welcome credits do not refill, so new AI work pauses when you use them up. You can subscribe to Writer or buy a Revision Pack to continue using AI. There are no automatic top-ups or overage charges. If a run fails or a credit charge looks wrong, contact support so we can review it.

You can import a full manuscript without a plan-based word cap. AI tools have different reading limits and may analyze only part of a long book. Guardian shows its coverage, and longer or deeper scans can cost more credits. Character Voice Distinction reads all of your dialogue on every plan, at 1 credit per 10,000 words of dialogue; only a book with more than 70,000 words of dialogue is sampled evenly across its chapters. A saved result should be read alongside its coverage before treating it as a whole-book review.

No. Novilot provides the AI tools within your credit allowance. You do not need a separate AI subscription or an API key. Your manuscript remains yours; see our privacy policy for how it is processed.
